If you are looking at other Land Rovers be aware that the above replaced tie-rod ends and the brakes normally wear out at between 45,000-55,000 km. In fact it is so common that the tie-rod ends are often out of stock at the dealer! Always make sure that you get a full safety inspection on a Land Rover prior to making a purchase decision if a current one is not provided by the seller!
Land Rover's have a very advanced braking system that is especially important for adverse weather conditions and for off-roading. All 4 brakes receive equal braking power front to back which means that unlike other vehicles Land Rover brakes wear out at the same time. Since the LR3 is almost an equally balanced vehicle front to back this type of braking system allows for maximum braking efficiency at all times. If just the front or just the rear brakes were recently done then you know you will very soon have to do the other ones.

I just completed a wonderful road trip through the U.S. in this LR3 Land Rover, a distance of about 4,200 km. I can say without exception that of all the vehicles I have taken on my many long highway trips this one has been the most enjoyable. Its winter capabilities are exceptional even when traveling through deep snow, extremely icy roads and blizzards. The Heated Front Glass is a great feature. Fuel mileage on this trip was very consistent. Traveling at 110km/h netted me 24MPG (11.77 L/100km). Traveling through the blizzard in Utah and Arizona in a combination of deep snow, ice and -15 to -20 temperatures at 90 km/h still gave me 25 MPG (11.33 L/100km). Considering I had about 700-800 pounds of cargo I think these numbers are pretty impressive. It helps that this LR3 is the V6 engine rather than the V8. Power is more than adequate and is able to maintain highway speed even up long mountain grades. I am confident that driving on a fairly flat highway in the summer could net you 30MPG (9.42 L/100km) especially if you switch all fluids to Amsoil. That's pretty good for a large SUV that weights in at just over 5300 pounds. This Land Rover LR3 SE was originally sold by a U.S. Land Rover dealer. Land Rover warranties are honored North America wide regardless of where it was originally sold.
