1991 Toyota Hi-Ace 4WD Super Custom Limited with Locking Front Hubs -Sold!
Chances are you have never heard of this minivan before let alone seen one (unless you travel outside of North America!)
Expect up to 40 mpg on the Highway!
Its an SUV, Limousine, Minivan, Chameleon, Cargo Van, MPV, and Economy car all in one!
The Interior of the 4 X 4 is immaculate. It looks like it was hardly used; more reflecting that of a car a year or two old. But then we must also remember that the kilometers of this Hiace also more reflect those of a car about 3 years old.
The exterior of this HiAce is in great shape. The paint shines and reflects wonderfully. Never having seen snow and the rocks and salt on the road that go with winter definitely has preserved this HiAce in a Time Capsule.
History
The Hi-Ace has been a major backbone to Toyota worldwide since 1967. By far this is Toyota's number one selling van. It has been configured for Ambulances, Taxis, Commuter vans (15 passenger), Delivery vans and of course the perfect vehicle for the camping family.
If it is so popular then why was it not sold here? I am sure Toyota had many reasons for not offering it in North America, the main one being price. In 1991 you could not spend more than $20,000.00 on any fully loaded minivan import or otherwise (Bar the ever expensive Vanagon). North Americans were not yet warmed up to the price tag that a fully loaded Hi-Ace came with.
In 1991 the Toyota Hi-Ace came in no less than 32 different consumer models with options within each of those models for those that wanted the extras.
In 1991 a fully loaded Hi-Ace, if it would have been sold here in Canada would have set you back $45,000.00!
The 1991 Hi-Ace was a 4th Generation that continued until the 5th generation was introduced in August of 2004.
South Africa's Department of Transport estimates that 8 out of 10 taxis in South Africa are Hi-Ace's.
We have chosen to import this model of Hi-Ace as it is the Top of the Line of 32 different HiAce Models and its option list more reflects what would be on a much newer Minivan sold in Canada.

Maintenance History
- Last Japanese Shaken Test Passed September 2005
- It is important to know that the last Shaken test was done fairly recently to show that the vehicle was being driven rather than sitting for potentially decades. A driven vehicle with low km is much better than one that has been sitting for an extended period of time.
- Several Maintenance Stickers are in many places on this HiAce
- It is apparent that servicing has been done regularly on this one owner vehicle
- It was only driven about 5000 km per year
- The Interior looks new, pride of ownership shows throughout

- 700,000- 1,000,000 km on a Hi-Ace with the 2.8L engine is common occurrence.
- This is the top model Hi-Ace as designated by the chassis number LH107W.
- The popularity of this Hi-Ace is shown in its long life. This 4th Generation Hi-Ace was not replaced by a 5th generation model until August of 2004. A total life span of 15 years!
