1991 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon-Sold!
If you don't like people staring at you then this is not the vehicle for you.
Being in the automotive industry I have had the opportunity do drive many expensive and unique vehicles. This G-Wagon has been my personal vehicle. Due to a growing family we have decided to get something bigger.
I told my wife that once we had made the decision to sell the G-Wagon I immediately almost felt like there was going to be a death in the family. We love it.
You have to get use to people putting their thumbs up when you drive by; people saying nice Jeep (Gulp, swallow your tongue); People just smiling when they see you drive by, people asking you what is it?; meeting lots of new people who come up to you talk to you about your G-Wagon.
But one thing you will probably never get use to is the awesome experience of having the privilege of getting behind the wheel of such a world class driving machine.
Just Installed 4 Brand New Bridgestone Winter Dueler DM-Z2 with Uni-T 30" X 9.5" LT- 15 ($1,200.00)
These tires are incredible. At only 241mm wide these tires drive on ice like they are glued to the road.
Remember that the narrower the tire the better it handles and stops in winter driving conditions. The higher the weight on the narrowest contact area with the road equals the best winter traction.
With perfect 50/50 weight distribution and 1250 lbs on each tire you truly have the ultimate winter and off-road driving machine!
This is one RARE Mercedes. When was the last time you saw one not counting at the Mercedes Dealership? Treat yourself to the greatest Luxury Full-Time AWD 4X4 of all time. Most people would be hard pressed to know the difference between this one and a 2007 model which is up to $156,000.00!
G-Wagons are only going to become more of a collector's item now that most Mercedes Dealerships like Lone Star will no longer be carrying G-Wagons in inventory, it is now a special order item only!
The G-Wagen was never sold in Canada or the U.S. from late 1986-1993. From 1994-2001 it was available for limited sale in the U.S. and did not become available through Mercedes-Benz Dealers in North America until 2003.
This is a W463 Series. Do not confuse this G-Wagen with the previous generation W460 that was sold from 1979-1992. If it is a 230G or a 280GE then it is a W460; the old model. The best way to confirm which model you are looking at is to check the VIN.
A W460 has a different body and bumpers as well as a much older looking interior. Probably the biggest difference is that the W460 does not have permanent ALL-WHEEL-DRIVE. The W460 also does not have 3 locking differentials and has a lot less power.
When Mercedes came out with the W463 it was a completely new G-Wagen with significant upgrades and improvements which is why it is still basically the same today, 17 years later in 2007.
Remember that both the W460 and the W463 overlapped during the years 1990-1992 so during these years you could buy either one brand new! (Just not in North America)
Just completed over $5,200.00 for Parts and Service!

Maintenance History
- We found a total of 13 oil change stickers under the hood and on the inside of the gas flap. It appears as though this vehicle was very well maintained for a 4WD. In the last year we have not seen another G-Wagen of this quality (Which is why we bought it and have not any others). Many of these are truly beat up; not the case here with a grade 4 exterior and a "B" interior.
- Last Japanese Shaken Test Passed May 2003
- New Behr Radiator in July 2005
